Matter & Dust: A Visual Elegy

An experimental animated short exploring matter, energy, and the links between human consciousness and the cosmos. The project combines illustration, compositing, sound, and motion to follow a cycle of birth, development, maturity, death, and rebirth. It received 3rd place at the 2023 National Science/Art Student Conference (OMDK) and screened at the 2024 Eger Slow Film Festival.
Matter & Dust is an animation exploring the connection and parallels between human consciousness and the universe around us.
It is based on the concept that matter and energy cannot be created or destroyed, only reshaped, repositioned, and repurposed in the universe, meaning that we are all composed of the atoms and stardust present at the creation of our galaxy.
This project won 3rd place in the National Science/Art Students' Conference (OMDK) in 2023, and was screened at the Eger Slow Film Festival in 2024

Music design session between Cape Town and Pécs
While this project started as a silent book exploring the connection between consciousness and celestial bodies, through its production it revealed itself to be a visual elegy and an important aspect of the mourning process.
