Oneaway – Social Media & Marketing Design

OneAway is a platform that empowers businesses to streamline their operations and connect with their audiences more effectively. Over the past 5 months, I've worked as their Marketing Designer, leading the visual direction across all social media channels and creating comprehensive marketing materials that support their brand growth and engagement goals.

The challenge

OneAway needed a cohesive visual identity across multiple touchpoints—from LinkedIn posts, cheatsheets, infographics, carousels, and motion graphics for their leadership team, other content, and promotional materials. The challenge was to create a scalable design system that could work across different platforms while maintaining brand consistency and driving engagement with their diverse audience.

My role

As the sole Marketing Designer, I was responsible for:
Social media design – Creating daily content for all staff social media accounts, ensuring each post aligned with OneAway's brand voice while reflecting individual team members' expertise
Marketing collateral – Designing graphics event materials, and promotional assets.
Brand consistency – Developing and maintaining visual guidelines that kept the brand cohesive across all channels
Content strategy support – Collaborating with the marketing team to translate campaign ideas into compelling visual narratives

Research & creative direction

Before diving into design, I conducted a thorough analysis of OneAway's industry landscape, studying how competitors and adjacent brands communicate visually on social media. I looked at:
Direct competitors in the business operations space to understand visual trends and messaging patterns
High-performing social content across industries to identify what drives engagement
Platform-specific best practices for LinkedIn, Instagram, and other channels OneAway is active on
This research informed my approach to creating thumb-stopping content that balances professionalism with approachability—critical for B2B social media success.

Design execution

I developed a flexible visual system that could adapt to different content types while maintaining strong brand recognition:
Social media templates – Modular designs for quotes, announcements, tips, company updates, and thought leadership posts
Staff content differentiation – Unique visual approaches for different team members while keeping them under the OneAway brand umbrella
Marketing campaign assets – Cohesive graphics supporting product launches, webinars, and promotional initiatives
Motion graphics and animations – Dynamic content to boost engagement rates on platforms that prioritize video
