GE Global B2B Quoting Application Improvements

Quote is an application that is used by GE customers to perform task related to quotation. GE is continually improving the application to improve the user experience and adding more features.

I work as a UI/UX Designer on demand basis for more than a year, I work closely with GE stakeholder to refine the application, adding new features and improve existing user experience of the application.

The challenge during my project at GE is more toward really understanding the overall application and understanding the business process. It is hard to understand the whole background however I give my best judgement with the provided limited information by GE.

External GE B2B Customers

The process start with the design brief coming from GE on a documentation format, we communicate through Slack. Apart from me, there are three designers working on this project, One from Indonesia (me), the other two are from Romania and Thailand, we use Sketch for the design tool and use tool called Abstract for version control and to merge the design into a master source file.

After receiving the design brief, I started the initial design and make some design concept ideas, then I send the design to GE to get feedback, this is an iterative process the design is marked as final has been approved by the approver.
