In this student project, my goal was to explore and understand what sets the international brand, 'The Body Shop', apart in the cosmetics industry, who their target audience is and how I can make their website work even better for costumers who wish to have an easy, aesthetically-pleasing and memorable online purchase experience.
The first step was understanding the brand's identity, core values, market positioning and product offerings- which led to analyzing the demographics, purchasing habits, and most importantly- pain points of the desired target audience. Learning these attributes, I was able to tailor the website's design and functionality to the specific needs of the target audience with the ultimate user experience, giving an emphasis on clear call-to-action which is the most important component and mission in e-commerce websites.
The design featured the brand's recognizable green color, reflecting nature and sustainability, and also included a lively mix of lavender purple and bold orange- which appeals to the target audience, mainly young women- while the font combination blended aesthetic charm with intuitive functionality.
With this process, I was able to offer a comprehensive and impactful solution, and transform the website into a efficient and visually-captivating tool for both the brand and the audience.
