Designing ClientGo for Voyant

Client: Voyant Role: Product Designer

Context: Voyant is a B2B financial planning software company that works with banks across the globe. Typically, Voyant's clients are banks and their financial advisors. However, Voyant wanted to break into the consumer market by making tools for the clients of advisors they already serve. They wanted to achieve this by making a fun finacial/retirement planning tool for consumers that introduces them to planning and provides the initial "fact-find" to better automate their onboarding with an advisor.

Challenge: Make a cross-platform tool for easily onboarding new clients for international financial advisors.

Approach: I joined Voyant as the lead designer was leaving the company. She was responsible for the initial user research and the mobile prototypes. I adapted her designs for desktop prototypes and the evolving needs of the product from executives actively pitching the app to clients. Then worked with developers and stakeholders to implement and refine the product. While working with developers we decided to make a styleguide for the product. This was followed by several rounds of usability studies to determine and improve pain points prior to launch.

Results: ClientGo launched in the Summer of 2022. The product is currently live at PlanWithVoyant.com. If you would like to see it in action and start your own financial plan, you can sign up for a free 30-day trial and explore the tool (although keep in mind the account is intended for advisors). Voyant's primary product is AdviserGo, and ClientGo comes us a supplementary product automatically with all new trials. The advisor is encouraged to invite their clients to make an account on ClientGo and start their financial planning (goals, assets, expenses, etc.) and then feed all this data to AdviserGo for the advisor to start a more comprehensive financial plan.

Initial drawings for what was called Voyant Game at the time. This was during my first week at the company in March of 2021 and the product evolved a lot in the year to come.
