Writing for Addepar Content Standards

I wrote the usage guidelines for multiple components, including Buttons and Text fields. I referenced industry standard style guides, like Mailchimp and Intuit, researched best practices, and crowdsourced inputs from team members.

I created a “UI Copy Checklist” to guide our content and product design teams on using our content standards before finalizing their work

There were two things that motivated me to start this work:

Seemingly small content requirements often fell through the cracks, like keeping up with sentence case or date formatting. This often happened due to content designers not knowing the updated standards, or product designers working without content design collaboration

Our content standards are very long - it’s a lot to parse through! I wanted us to have a dedicated, simple resource that anyone across design could use as a “double-check” before signing off on new design work
