Branding - Spy Museum

Phil Perkin

The Brief:
A new and exciting spy museum is set to open in London and they have approached me to help them develop their brand identity.
COLOURS:
For the colours, I knew these had to be darker than other projects due to the subject matter. Spies like to hide in plain sight or are so secretive that brighter colours wouldn't work. I decided to keep things simple and go with a red, white and black.
The Concept:
I researched a lot of spy stories both written and movies for this topic trying to find some inspiration.  I found myself drawn to posters for Spy Movies, the way they were constructed and drew in the viewer leaving them wanting to know more about the film. I decided to create my own version of the classic spy movie poster and draw in the viewer to want to know more about the museum.
LOGO:
For the logo I was drawn to Morse Code and the way this was used by spies in the Second World War to send vital messages home to the UK. I thought using a dot and a few dashes would give the logo a unique approach which would be instantly recognisable.
