Context

As part of the ongoing shift towards a more contemporary look and feel for the Barclays products and services we offer our clients and users, I led the design of a much-needed revamp of one of the business banking client platforms at Barclays. In this first phase, I focused on optimizing our users' workflow efficiency, as this was one of the big points the stakeholders had flagged.

Problem

Managing finances can be quite a daunting and mundane task. The issue users faced was that the old design language didn't offer any contemporary design patterns or current UX best practices that would help enhance the experience of their day-to-day tasks. The platform limited users; it was no longer helping improve productivity, remove friction from their already overwhelming tasks, or offer the most contemporary and intuitive design to provide our clients/users the experience they should be getting.

Solution

Using my close working relationship with the stakeholders, I delivered this initial phase of the new platform, which boasts a single, frictionless interface and offers a consistent and intuitive end-to-end experience. All the design decisions were aligned with the new Barclays design language and my understanding of UX best practices and rationale. By the end of these six weeks, I'd delivered a refined, sophisticated, and much more user-friendly journey for how our business banking clients would view mass transactions.
