Job Description:
I was hired as an Ongoing Bookkeeping Specialist for a real estate company that needed consistent and accurate financial management to handle its complex portfolio of properties and transactions.
What Happened:
The real estate company had a history of inconsistent bookkeeping, leading to challenges in tracking property expenses, rental income, and financial reporting. This lack of organization made it difficult for management to have a clear understanding of their financial standing and impeded their ability to make informed business decisions.
What I Did:
I began by setting up a detailed and organized bookkeeping system tailored to the real estate industry. I recorded all financial transactions daily, including property purchases, rental income, maintenance expenses, and other related costs. I ensured that each transaction was accurately categorized and properly documented. I also managed accounts payable and receivable, reconciled bank statements monthly, and kept the general ledger up to date.
