Just like almost every Gen-Z in this world, I don’t like people.
But we can’t deny the fact that making friends is a must. We HAVE TO make friends. It’s a reality we can’t fight, especially as an introvert.
Why? The answer is simple. And I’m sure everybody knows it. To be clear, let’s quote the initial sentence in every communication science journal article,
“Humans are social creatures.”
We can’t easily say,
“I can live on my own without friends! I don’t need friends!”
Dang… I also wish I can say that.
But here we are. Living in a world that forces us to join this chaotic society.
People are annoying
Everyone is annoying. Even I think I’m annoying.
But I’m not saying humans are completely annoying. It’s normal to be annoying. There’s no way someone doesn’t have an annoying side. I will be terrified if I meet one.
What I’m trying to say is, how annoying they are?
Is it that bad?
Is it tolerable?
Some people are just not worth being friends with. And I’m sure you know exactly who they are. Maybe some names are appearing in your head right now.
If you don’t have any business with them, cut them off. Cut them off while you can. And make friends while you can.
A lot of friends equal a lot of stories.
It’s fun to hear stories. It can make us happy, sad or angry. Without them, we might have limited expressions and feelings.
I can say I have a lot of friends now. Personally, it’s very interesting because I can see the different worlds they live in.
I learn new things from each new friend I have. But still. They’re just “that friend” I just know. Not close enough to be asked to hang out with.
Well… I’m not a person who’s curious enough for searching common information. So, I enjoyed having a lot of new friends, even though I’m an introverted introvert who loses energy if standing in a crowd for too long.
...
We may be fine without a lot of friends. The thing is, we can get so much emotions through friendship with a lot of people.
Otherwise, some stories are very important. Which may will lead you to a better life.
We learn from our mistakes and experiences. While you can also learn from others’ experiences without having to make that mistakes!
It’s like a life shortcut
So… is it important?
No, but yes. Yes, but no.
I can’t decide..
You are the one who decides if it’s important or not.
Do you think you need a lot of relations and information? Then it’s important.
Do you think you don’t need a lot of relations and you can search for the information on your own? Do you feel more comfortable having a small friend group? Then it’s not important.
Having friends is a must. Having a lot of friends is a choice.
