RRI needed a bold refresh and a clean break from their outdated WordPress site. We led the migration, crafted a custom Squarespace 7.1 experience, and reimagined their digital identity from the ground up, all while making the backend easier to manage and the design more engaging for users. The result is a streamlined structure, and interactive design system that aligns with their mission and drives bookings.

Client Overview

Renewable Recycling, Inc. (RRI) is a standout in the New York recycling scene and environmental rock star recognized for rapid growth and sharp leadership. From mattress pioneer to industry thought leader, RRI now helps shape policy, forges public-private partnerships, and teaches both consumers and builders how to repurpose materials for modern design.
A bold new homepage sets the tone with vivid visuals, interactive navigation, and a story-driven layout invite visitors to explore RRI’s evolving services and sustainability mission.

The Challenge

After over a decade with a WordPress site, RRI outgrew both platform and persona. Christine’s team needed a web presence that could bridge local service, bold new products, and East Coast advocacy. Their old setup became problematic with technical snags and time-intensive fixes that could knock out bookings or break email.

BEFORE: Legacy Look and Limitations

Pain points:
Legacy Wordpress theme, plugin, and hosting woes put reliability at risk.
Troublesome updates spawned random outages (think lost bookings and stalled business flow).
The brand felt static for a wider, more diverse audience.
RRI needed speedier ways to manage services, launch eCommerce, share press, and spark future growth.

Modernizing the brand

Subtle logo refinement, typography updated, and colors dialed up. I created a sharp brand guide, making sure the site structure could sustain future growth.

Intuitive Navigation

At RRI’s request, the homepage spotlights a custom “pie chart” earth featuring interactive hotspots midway down, inviting visitors to check out all services and click through to what interests them. Sticky side navigation makes jumping between highlights effortless. Banners, crisp visuals, and intuitive navigation deliver a friendly, engaging journey that is responsive across all devices.

I kept RRI’s trusted booking system in place (no learning curve for staff or customers!), introduced smart multi-step forms, and teed up eCommerce. Analytics and precision-crafted SEO fuel growth in step with the business.
