Longsock is the first toy designed for your dog's nose!
Dreamed up by the founder, Natallia, as a gift to her energetic and anxious dog, Shadow.
Natallia reached out to me to create the visual identity for this special toy.
My aim and challenge for this project was striking balances, between playful and trustworthy, between boldness and softness, between quality and accessibility.
The easy part was making it cute.
THE ILLUSTRATIONS
This project was a dream for me as an illustrator-turned-brand-designer.
We wanted a vibrant and personality filled cast of puppies to walk the viewer through the benefits and uses of the toy, creating a fun, fuzzy, and engaging scroll through content.
THE LOGO
The Longsock logo was exciting to create, the name being very removed from the actual product, we gleaned it may be confusing to shove relevance in where the brand could do the talking.
We decided to go with something eye-catching and story book like, with a slight nod to a dog's tail in the descender of the "g".
The logo mark we wanted to keep it cute an simple, using the counter of the letters to create an ear, and warping to create a snout with some sniff marks.
THE SITE AND SOCIALS
For the website we were very keen on keeping things sleek, monochromatic, and illustration heavy-- with hand drawn badges, heroes, and portraits.
THE SQUIGGLE
The gradient squiggle carries the viewer's eye effortlessly through sections and represents scent trails being carried through the air.
