Yukatan

Yukatan is a clothing brand that offers made-to-fit wardrobe staples. The goal was to create a seamless e-commerce experience that makes customization easy. Through rapid rounds of prototyping and ideation, we designed an atypical, yet simple user flow for the business. The product was refined through regular client feedback, brainstorming, and identifying opportunities for problem-solving.

After taking stock of the current landscape of online customization services, several popular exercises were used to ideate, from sketching Crazy 8’s to asking ourselves ‘How Might We?’. While problem-solving, we had to balance back-end management needs with user needs.

Post generating solutions, we took to Figma, doing round after round of quick prototyping. We found that feedback in succession after each prototype group helped evolve the service faster and connect more to the client’s vision. A minimal identity system was developed as well, to complement the UX.

We ended up using 3D visualization as an aide for users to view the customizations as they were making them in real-time. CGI and 3D tools such as Blender were used not only to design the clothes themselves but also the pre-loader animation.
