Go-to-Market Strategy & Growth Roadmap for a Pet-Tech Mobile App

Project Overview

An emerging pet-tech mobile app was preparing to launch a new platform designed to help dog parents better understand and connect with their dogs through personalized insights and interactive experiences.
The founding team needed a clearer growth strategy that would connect its organic social presence, website, waitlist, paid media, email marketing, and launch messaging into one cohesive customer journey.
The goal was to identify where prospective users were losing momentum, clarify the role of each marketing channel, and create an actionable roadmap the team could use to prepare for launch.
A high-level summary of the strongest existing opportunities, the key gaps limiting growth, and the strategic priorities recommended before launch.

The Challenge

The brand was generating early interest through social media, but that attention was not consistently progressing into website visits or waitlist sign-ups.
The team also needed a clearer way to communicate what the app offered, why it was valuable, and how organic content, the website, email, and paid media should work together before and after launch.
A structured evaluation of the brand’s Instagram and TikTok presence across positioning, profile clarity, content, conversion readiness, and platform-native execution.

My Role

I led the organic social audit and development of the broader go-to-market growth roadmap.
My scope included:
Instagram and TikTok performance audits
Audience and positioning recommendations
Organic content and channel strategy
Website and waitlist conversion recommendations
Pre-launch and post-launch paid social concepts
Email journey and segmentation planning
Analytics and tracking requirements
A phased implementation roadmap

My Approach

I evaluated the customer journey across each major growth channel rather than reviewing them in isolation.
The strategy focused on connecting awareness, education, conversion, nurture, and launch activation so that each channel had a clear role in moving prospective users forward.
A full-funnel growth model connecting organic social, paid media, the website, lifecycle marketing, and measurement into one coordinated customer journey.

Organic Social Strategy

I clarified the roles of Instagram and TikTok within the broader launch strategy.
Instagram was positioned as a mini landing page designed to educate visitors, communicate the product value, and guide users toward the waitlist. TikTok was positioned as a testing environment for hooks, messaging, audience questions, and platform-native content formats.
Recommendations included strengthening profile positioning and calls to action, creating educational pinned content, increasing interactive formats, and using organic insights to inform future paid creative.
Channel-specific recommendations defining how Instagram and TikTok should support product education, audience growth, message testing, and waitlist conversion.

Conversion and Launch Strategy

The next phase of the strategy focused on strengthening the path from social discovery to waitlist conversion.
Due to the existing website functioning primarily as a teaser page with limited product information and a basic email sign-up, I recommended expanding the experience just enough to help visitors understand what the app offers, why they should care, and what they would gain by joining the waitlist.
The recommendations included clearer product messaging, a concise “how it works” section, stronger benefit-led content, frequently asked questions, and a more intentional waitlist experience designed to capture useful audience insights without creating unnecessary friction.
A conceptual example created to demonstrate the recommended landing-page hierarchy, messaging, educational sections, and conversion journey. This was a strategic visualization, not a final website design or development deliverable.

I also developed paid social concepts to support both pre-launch waitlist acquisition and post-launch trial growth.
These mockups were developed as strategic examples to communicate recommended messaging, hierarchy, and campaign direction. They were not intended to represent final web design, development, or production-ready creative.

Email, Analytics, and Measurement

To support launch readiness, I also mapped the foundational email and measurement requirements needed to connect acquisition activity with future user behavior.
Recommendations included welcome, quiz, and launch email journeys, waitlist segmentation, campaign tracking standards, Google Analytics setup, UTMs, Meta conversion tracking, and clearer attribution.

The Deliverable

The final deliverable was a comprehensive audit and go-to-market strategy deck that gave the team a unified direction across organic social, paid media, website optimization, email marketing, analytics, and launch planning.
The roadmap also clarified priorities, channel roles, ownership, dependencies, and the decisions that needed to be confirmed before launch execution could begin.

The Outcome

The engagement gave the team a clear strategic foundation for improving its current digital presence while preparing the broader marketing ecosystem for launch.
The recommendations are now guiding content development, website and waitlist improvements, measurement planning, cross-functional responsibilities, and the sequencing of upcoming growth initiatives.
Due to the app not yet launched, the outcome focused on strategic clarity, launch readiness, and implementation planning rather than final performance results.
