What is AGRIM?

AGRIM is an android app that helps retailers to buy high quality agricultural products for their business. A B2B Agri-Input e-commerce marketplace, which brings small retailers and manufacturers on one platform.

Project & Personal Goals

Project Goals

This project involved just the UI part of their app. As the sole designer of their entire team, I was responsible of designing end-to-end screens for this app. The project goals were -
High Rating: Receive 4.5+ rating on Google Play Store.
Experience: Design an app that is easily accessible to our target users.
Uniqueness: Being not just any other retail app - but one that feels like a user’s own app.

Personal Goals

As my first freelance project and the first project as a UI designer, it was necessary for me to have a set of personal goals as well.
Better Understanding: To understand the design process well.
Visuals: Creating a brand new interface with a complete visual structure with mordern aesthetics.

Understanding the Target Users & Business

Target Users

Traders
Wholesalers
Retailers
Manufacturers
Business Owners

Business

Designed specifically for small & medium businesses in India
Caters to only agricultural products like rice, seed etc.
Suppliers can get orders from buyers across the country
Grow the app users’ network for future business, both for buyers and sellers

App User Flow

App user flow* for the retailer, who will use this app for buying high quality Agri products for their businesses.
*this is a much simpler form of the actual user flow. Most of the in-between steps have not been mentioned here only for viewers’ ease of reading. Please find the figma link below for the full user flow.

The Main Screens

All the information gathered from research and competitive analysis served as a base to finally propose interfaces and ready solutions to streamline the experience and create a functional app layout. It addresses the user’s needs for a simple, yet engaging and uncluttered design.

My Learnings

Challenges I faced

Since this app will primarily be used by Kirana store owners owning cheaper smartphones, so I had to choose a holistic approach for the app that not just allows a retailer to buy any agri product, but also allows the end user to complete a task without facing any difficulty.
There were multiple virtual connects with the developers and hence multiple iterations in the designs that followed post the connects. And these multiple iterations has helped me to bring a new perspective to the problem statement every time.
And not to mention “Being in the Users’ Shoes” is so much easier said than done.

The Stats & Deliverables

Timeline: ~2.5 months

Budget: $900+

✦ Handed off 50+ screens to the devops along with the figma file

Client Testimonial

Working with Priyanka on AGRIM's app screens was a game-changer. In less than two months, she delivered a visually stunning and intuitive design, requiring minimal intervention. AGRIM owes a significant part of its success to her outstanding work. Looking forward to hopefully working together in the future.
