The education management sector faces several challenges in adopting digital platforms. Fragmented systems often result in inefficiencies, where instructors, students, and administrators find it difficult to access and manage educational resources effectively. Engagement barriers arise from the lack of interactive features, which limits meaningful connections and reduces overall participation.
Data security and management also pose significant risks, as educational institutions are required to handle sensitive data relating to students, staff, and payments. These challenges not only affect the quality of education but also impact the reputation and long-term viability of institutions. Recognising these issues, Cosonas initiated the development of Scouled, a Learning Management System, to address these obstacles and transform the educational experience for colleges and universities.

Objectives:

Centralised Educational Management: Develop a user-friendly learning management system where educators, students, and administrators can seamlessly access and manage educational resources. Integrate tools for course scheduling, assessments, progress tracking, and communication in a single, cohesive platform.
Enhanced Engagement in Learning: Incorporate features that facilitate real-time interaction, collaborative learning, and progress monitoring. Provide tools for personalised feedback and tailored learning experiences to improve student engagement and outcomes.
Scalable and Flexible Infrastructure: Create a robust and adaptable platform capable of supporting diverse educational programmes and growing user bases. Implement scalable infrastructure to ensure smooth performance across institutions of varying sizes and requirements.

Key Technologies:

UI/UX Design: Designed the platform’s user interface and experience using Figma, ensuring intuitive navigation through wireframes, mockups, and interactive prototypes.
Frontend Development: Built using React and Material-UI (MUI), enabling a responsive and user-friendly interface for both desktop and mobile users. React’s component-based architecture supports dynamic and scalable design.
Backend Development: Powered by Node.js (v16.0) and Express, delivering real-time updates, efficient data processing, and seamless integration of multiple platform functionalities.
Database Management: Structured with MySQL, providing a reliable and scalable relational database to store and manage educational data with a flexible schema for future expansion.
AI Integration: Incorporated AI algorithms to offer personalised recommendations, real-time progress tracking, and intelligent insights for improved learning experiences.
Hosting Infrastructure: Deployed on a VPS server with the following specifications:
8 CPU cores for high-performance computing.
12 GB RAM to handle multiple concurrent users.
240 GB SSD RAID 10 for fast and secure storage.
6000 GB bandwidth to support heavy data transfer needs.
Operating System: Configured on Ubuntu 22.04 Webuzo (64-bit), offering a secure and stable environment for hosting the platform.
Payment Integration: Integrated Stripe as the payment gateway for secure, multi-currency transactions, enabling subscription management and seamless payment processing.
