Pharmaceutical Procurement Marketplace SaaS

Fahad Patel

Fahad Patel

A full-scale B2B pharmaceutical procurement marketplace connecting pharmacies with verified suppliers through a flexible RFQ and quotation-driven purchasing workflow.

Suppliers can publish and continuously update their product catalogs, while pharmacies can browse available products or create an RFQ for any product they need, without being restricted to products already listed by a specific supplier.
To simplify supplier onboarding and catalog management, the platform includes an AI-powered catalog import workflow. Suppliers can provide existing catalog documents, which are processed using OCR and AI services to extract product information and automatically create structured catalog products, significantly reducing manual catalog entry.
Suppliers can respond to RFQs with quotations and submit multiple quotation versions. Pharmacies can then review all received quotations in one place and use comparison and decision-support tools to identify the most suitable supplier for each product.
The purchasing workflow supports partial orders and multi-supplier purchasing, allowing pharmacies to select different suppliers for different products and generate purchase orders directly from their purchasing decisions.

AI Catalog Processing

One of the platform's more technically interesting workflows is the catalog import system.
Instead of requiring suppliers to manually enter their entire product catalog, they can provide existing catalog material. The platform uses OCR and AI processing to extract relevant product information and transform unstructured catalog data into structured products that can be reviewed and managed within the supplier's catalog.
This addresses a significant marketplace onboarding problem: getting supplier inventory/catalog data into the platform without creating a large manual data-entry burden.

Procurement Intelligence

The platform is designed to help pharmacies make purchasing decisions, not simply collect quotations.
When suppliers respond to an RFQ, the platform brings the offers together and helps identify the best supplier for each requested product, providing purchasing insights and allowing pharmacies to combine multiple suppliers when appropriate.
The pharmacy can then partially order products, choose different suppliers, and generate purchase orders from the resulting procurement decision.

Urgent Procurement

The dedicated SOS / Urgent Order workflow is designed for situations where speed is critical.
Instead of completing the full procurement process, pharmacies can submit a streamlined request with minimal information to a limited set of suppliers, enabling faster responses and quicker fulfillment.

Platform Architecture & Vision

The platform was built as a highly configurable SaaS marketplace, with administrative controls for plans, providers, features, subscriptions, and other platform-level functionality.
The broader architecture is designed to evolve beyond the current procurement workflow toward Amazon/Noon marketplace integrations, WhatsApp and Viber channels, real-time pharmacy–supplier chat, product advertising and promotion, and an open pharmaceutical marketplace.

Outcome

The result is a pharmaceutical procurement infrastructure that combines marketplace connectivity, AI-assisted catalog onboarding, RFQ management, quotation intelligence, and flexible purchasing into one platform.
