Charlotte Baseball team will host an outdoor family event in partnership with Habitat for Humanity

CHARLOTTE, N.C., (Feb. 13, 2023) – The Charlotte Bobcats baseball team is hosting an outdoor

friends and family community event in partnership with Habitat for Humanity to raise awareness

for the lack of affordable housing in Charlotte and neighboring communities. This event will be held

at their home stadium with special guest host Baseball Hall of Fame inductee Clarke Bridges, who

will speak alongside a Habitat for Humanity representative. Bridges’ speech will serve to educate

fans on ways the community can come together to help families in need.

The event will be held on March 5 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Event attendees can begin to enter the

stadium at 9:30 a.m. and capacity is limited to 500 guests. Tickets for this event can be purchased

online or in-person the day of the event for $35, and all proceeds from ticket sales will be donated

directly to Habitat for Humanity. Outdoor activities such as cornhole, water dunk tanks, and

baseball will be provided for families to enjoy at this event. Food truck vendors will also be located

around the field, as well as live music performances starting at 12 p.m.

Charlotte Bobcats Head Coach Dean Williams says the team has been anticipating this event for

quite some time: “All the players and their families have been so excited to see this plan start to

come into action. We as a team always strive to find ways to grow and nourish our community, so

we thought we would invite the members of our community to the place we call home to get in on

the action as well.”

Bridges, former Charlotte Bobcats pitcher, expresses his excitement for the big event stating: “I

hope we have a big turnout for this event because it is always nice to see community involvement,

especially for a great cause. I am excited to see how many times we can get Coach Williams in the

dunk tank.”
