African communities needed AI tools localized for their unique cultural context and languages, but most AI platforms were built for Western markets with limited accessibility in regions with connectivity challenges.

Solution Built AfroChat, a complete generative AI platform specifically designed for African users. The platform offers Text-to-Image generation allowing users to create visual content, interactive AI personas for conversations and assistance, and seamless Telegram integration so users can access AI features without installing full apps—critical for areas with limited storage or bandwidth.

Technical Developed the frontend with Next.js and React for fast, responsive user experience, styled with Tailwind CSS for modern, mobile-first design. Built backend with Node.js handling AI API integrations and user management. Implemented Redux for state management across complex AI interactions. Created Telegram bot integration allowing users to access platform features directly through messaging app.
