Project Overview®
Grazie Nonna is a modern pasta brand inspired by the warmth, craft, and authenticity of handmade family recipes. The challenge was to create a brand identity and packaging system that could celebrate Italian heritage without falling into the familiar visual language of traditional pasta brands. Instead of looking backward, the identity brings nonna's heritage into a contemporary world: bold, expressive, colorful, and unmistakably Italian. The result is a visual identity built around one central idea: Tradition, reframed for a new generation.
Typeface
The typographic system embodies the core philosophy of Grazie Nonna: bridging architectural modernity with the warmth of human craft. PP Neue Montreal serves as the structural backbone of the brand—its clean geometry, disciplined proportion, and confident weight deliver high-impact legibility and an elevated editorial tone across packaging and collaterals. In direct contrast, Brother Signature functions as an intimate emotional layer, capturing the spontaneous, fluid strokes of Nonna’s handwritten family recipes and kitchen annotations. Together, this dynamic interplay of razor-sharp precision and organic script strips away nostalgic clichés, presenting authentic Italian heritage through a sleek, contemporary lens.

Grazie Nonna is a contemporary pasta brand inspired by the warmth, craft, and authenticity of traditional Italian family recipes. For this self-initiated branding exploration, we imagined how a heritage-driven pasta brand could speak to a new generation without losing the soul of its roots. The concept, “Modern Heritage,” brings together two contrasting worlds: the familiarity of nonna’s kitchen and the boldness of contemporary design.
