Enterprise Website Revamp for a B2G GovTech Leader: PHP to WordPress CMS

Client: Amnex Infotechnologies Pvt. Ltd., a B2G technology company (GIS, AI, geospatial & smart-infrastructure solutions for government) Role: Lead / End-to-End Project Owner. Strategy, Information Architecture, Design Direction, WordPress Build & Migration, Content Operations, Launch Timeline: 2 months (8 weeks) Scope: 45 unique custom-designed pages plus 50+ template-driven pages Platform: Legacy static PHP migrated to WordPress CMS (custom theme + reusable template system)

Overview

Amnex is an enterprise GovTech company delivering GIS, AI, and geospatial platforms for smart cities, transportation, utilities, and public infrastructure across government clients. Their web presence, a hand-coded legacy PHP site, no longer matched the scale, credibility, or content velocity the business needed. Every content update required a developer, the information architecture couldn't accommodate a growing portfolio of industries and products, and the site wasn't built to convert the enterprise and public-sector decision-makers evaluating them.
I owned the revamp end-to-end and rebuilt it as a scalable WordPress CMS: a custom theme, a library of 50+ reusable templates, and 45 bespoke pages, delivered in 8 weeks. The result is an enterprise-grade website the marketing team can run independently, structured around the industries, products, and proof points that drive B2G buying decisions

The Challenge

The legacy PHP site created friction on three fronts:
No content autonomy. Every edit, whether a new product, an updated case study, or a fixed typo, went through a developer. The marketing team couldn't publish at the pace the business moved, so the site fell out of date.
An architecture that couldn't scale. Amnex's offering spans multiple industries (smart cities, mobility, water & utilities, land records, environment, public safety) and a deep product portfolio. The old flat structure had no clean, repeatable way to add an industry, a product, or a case study without hand-building each page in PHP.
A presence that didn't sell. For a B2G company, the website is a credibility instrument. Procurement teams, government stakeholders, and enterprise partners vet you through it. The old site read as a brochure rather than the proof-heavy, solution-led experience that wins tenders and enterprise trust.
The mandate: migrate off legacy PHP, rebuild on a CMS the team could operate, and ship a scalable, enterprise-grade information architecture, all in a tight two-month window with zero SEO or brand disruption.

Goals

Migrate from static/legacy PHP to a maintainable WordPress CMS with no loss of content or search equity
Design a scalable information architecture organized around Industries, Products, Solutions, and Case Studies
Build a reusable template system so new pages can be published without developer involvement
Deliver an enterprise-grade, conversion-oriented experience aligned to B2G buyer journeys
Hand the marketing team a CMS they can run independently across content, publishing, and page assembly

Process

Week 1 to 2, Discovery & Architecture. Audited all legacy PHP pages, mapped content to a new sitemap, and defined the information architecture: primary sections (Home, About, Industries, Products, Solutions, Case Studies, Resources/Insights, Careers, Contact) with scalable parent/child patterns for industry and product sub-pages. Established URL structure and a redirect map to preserve SEO.
Week 3 to 4, Design System & Templates. Defined the visual system (typography, color, spacing, components) and built the reusable template library: hero patterns, industry landing layouts, product detail templates, case study formats, resource/blog templates, and modular content blocks. This is what turned 50+ pages into a repeatable system instead of 50+ one-off builds.
Week 5 to 6, WordPress Build & Migration. Developed the custom theme, configured custom post types and taxonomies (Industries, Products, Case Studies), wired up the template system with flexible content fields, and migrated all content off legacy PHP into structured, editable CMS entries.
Week 7, Content, SEO & Assembly. Assembled the 45 unique pages, populated 50+ template-driven pages, implemented on-page SEO (metadata, headings, schema, internal linking), and set up the redirect map from the old PHP URLs.
Week 8, QA & Launch. Cross-browser and responsive QA, performance and accessibility passes, 301 redirect verification, analytics setup, and a controlled go-live with post-launch monitoring.

Information Architecture & Page System

The site was rebuilt around industry-standard enterprise structure, parent hubs with scalable child pages, using WordPress custom post types and taxonomies so the team can add entries without touching code.
45 unique, custom-designed pages, including:
Home, About, Leadership, Careers, Contact
Individual Industry landing pages (e.g. Smart Cities, Transportation & Mobility, Water & Utilities, Land Records, Environment, Public Safety)
Flagship Product / Platform pages
Solutions overview and key solution pages
Conversion and utility pages (partnerships, newsroom, downloads)
50+ template-driven pages, generated from reusable templates:
Case Studies: a repeatable detail template for every project and proof point
Industry sub-pages: child pages under each industry hub
Product / module sub-pages: detail pages within the product portfolio
Resources / Insights: blog posts, whitepapers, and news
Team, event, and supporting content pages
This parent-hub-plus-templated-child model is the core of the win: adding a new case study, industry, or product is now a form-fill in WordPress, not a development ticket.
