Clarify – Turning vague client feedback into actionable design tasks
Context
Designers often deal with unclear client feedback that slows projects down and creates unnecessary back-and-forth. During the Builder.io × Contra Challenge, I set out to see whether an AI-powered tool could remove this friction in a simple, reliable way.
Problem
Clients say things like “make it pop”, “add more life”, or “the layout feels off”. None of these statements tell a designer what to actually change.
This leads to:
• Guessing instead of executing
• Long revision cycles
• Frustration and wasted time
• Misalignment between designers and clients
There was no quick way to translate vague comments into structured tasks.
Solution
I built Clarify, a lightweight AI tool where users paste unclear client feedback and instantly receive clear, actionable design tasks. Instead of ambiguity, Clarify outputs precise steps such as:
• “Increase headline contrast by 30 percent.”
• “Tighten vertical spacing in the hero section.”
• “Refine button hierarchy by increasing weight and padding.”
Process
I focused on a clean, minimal workflow:
1. Simple input field for pasting raw client comments.
2. AI interprets the feedback and generates structured tasks.
3. Tasks are grouped with estimated effort and difficulty.
4. The interface keeps the flow distraction-free and fast.
The goal was to guide AI toward reliable outputs, not to build a big platform.
Outcome
Clarify earned second place in the Builder.io × Contra Challenge, validating its usefulness and the clarity of the execution. It shows how a focused AI tool can remove ambiguity, speed up design decisions, and give designers a confident starting point instead of guesswork.
