Gen Z Fintech Card — Product & Visual Design

Overview

I designed a modern fintech experience centered around a simple idea: money management shouldn’t feel complicated or boring.
The concept combines a digital card, spending insights, cashback rewards, secure payments, and international transactions into one cohesive experience.
The visual direction was intentionally energetic and contemporary, using bold typography, vibrant gradients, 3D elements, and expressive imagery to appeal to a younger, digitally native audience.

The Challenge

Traditional fintech products often communicate financial information through functional but visually conservative interfaces.
The challenge was to create an experience that could communicate:
Spend smarter
Track your money effortlessly
Get rewarded for everyday purchases
Feel secure while managing your card
Use your card globally
while still making the product feel approachable and exciting.
The design needed to balance financial trust with Gen Z-friendly visual energy.

My Approach

I structured the experience around four key product promises:

01 — Smart Spending

The first screen immediately communicates the value proposition: users can spend confidently while keeping track of their activity.
I introduced transaction history and spending information directly into the visual composition to make the product feel tangible rather than abstract.

02 — Effortless Card Management

The card management experience focuses on the actions users care about most—managing their card, monitoring spending, and staying secure.
The mobile interface was presented prominently to demonstrate how these features translate into a real product experience.

03 — Rewards That Feel Visible

Cashback became a major part of the visual language.
Rather than treating rewards as a secondary feature, I made them highly visible through large percentage-based visuals, notification-style components, and contextual messaging.
The goal was to make the reward feel instant and tangible.

04 — Built for Global Spending

The final direction communicates that the card isn’t limited to one market.
International currencies, global imagery, and location-independent messaging reinforce the idea of a card designed for people who travel, shop internationally, and operate across borders.

Visual Design Direction

The visual system combines fintech credibility with a more expressive consumer aesthetic.
I used:
Bold, high-contrast typography
Electric purple and blue gradients
Oversized percentage graphics
3D objects and dimensional elements
Floating UI cards
Mobile product mockups
Conversational microcopy
Vibrant photography
The result is a visual identity that feels closer to a modern consumer technology brand than a traditional banking product.

Designing for Conversion

The marketing compositions were designed around a clear hierarchy:
Value proposition → Product proof → Feature → Reward → Action
Instead of overwhelming users with every feature at once, each panel communicates one core reason to care.
For example:
Smart spending, instant rewards, and a card built for Gen Z.
This establishes the audience and value proposition immediately before showing the product.

Outcome

The final concept brings together product UI, fintech storytelling, and visual marketing into one cohesive experience.
The result is a fintech direction that feels:
Modern. Rewarding. Global. Secure.
More importantly, the interface and marketing visuals work together rather than feeling like separate design systems—creating a consistent experience from the first impression through to the actual product.
