Corporate Website for the Groupement des Entreprises Multinationales (GEM)
A corporate website created for GEM (Groupement des Entreprises Multinationales) to celebrate its 55th anniversary. The platform features a public section showcasing the organization’s mission, role, and services, and a secure private member area (Intranet) with role-based access. The project focused on delivering a modern, user-friendly, and scalable platform using WordPress Full Site Editing (FSE) — easy to manage, responsive across all devices, and enhanced with an interactive member map featuring smooth filtering and dynamic loading.

🎯 Project Goals

Develop a modern, fully responsive website using WordPress Full Site Editing (FSE)
Create a clear separation between public and private (Intranet) areas
Ensure high-level security and encryption for confidential member documents
Build a custom interactive member map with category filters and AJAX loading
Migrate all existing content and maintain SEO structure and metadata
Implement role-based access control and user permissions
Ensure smooth performance, fast loading, and scalability
Provide a flexible CMS that can be easily managed by non-technical staff
Set up a test environment and version control system (Git) for iterative development

🔧 What Was Done

The team developed a new site architecture separating public and private content, implementing role-based user access and encrypted file protection. A custom block theme was built using WordPress Full Site Editing (FSE), with global styles configured through theme.json for consistency and scalability. A dynamic member map with AJAX filters was created to improve usability, and all legacy content was migrated seamlessly with preserved SEO structure. Security, multilingual support, and performance optimization were fully integrated, with a Git-based workflow and test environment ensuring smooth delivery.

📈 Results

The new Gemonline.ch website is modern, secure, and fully responsive, offering a smooth interactive experience and simplified content management. Performance and accessibility improved significantly, while client feedback highlighted better usability and data security across the platform.
