Proven by its successful design, Logitech completes its rich range of gaming headsets, this time aimed at an audience with a strong competitive spirit.
Let's check if it really succeeds in this...
Already from the very name of the Logitech G Pro Gaming Headset, you can conclude that it is intended for competitive users.
This is confirmed by a look at its box, where we can see the emblems of many e-Sport teams, whose players, we assume, will use this headset ..
Despite such a purpose, the G Pro has a very simple and unobtrusive design, so it will certainly not attract prying eyes if you decide to carry it on the move.
Its use "on the field" is definitely helped by the fact that the microphone is detachable and that the weight does not exceed 259 grams.
The two-meter flexible cable is carefully braided and can also be completely detached from the headphones, which is useful if it gets damaged and needs to be replaced.
The cable connection is a combined 3.5 mm (4-pin TRRS), and the G Pro comes with an additional adapter that will convert one TRRS jack into two classic 3.5 mm TRS for headphone output and microphone signal input.
Its design is very similar to the existing models G433 and G233, so we can say that it is not too innovative.
However, already at the first use, we notice an improvement in the ear shells.
Unlike the previous models, they are now slightly larger, so they can accommodate larger ears without any problems.
The soft and comfortable pads are lined with artificial leather that isolates noise, and if this is not your pair of sleeves, with the G Pro you will receive an additional pair of pads covered with soft fabric ( microsuede).
The frame is made of solid matte plastic, the inside of which is reinforced with metal that we see when extending the frame.
The headphones are covered with rubberized plastic, on the middle of which is the Logitech G emblem – such simplicity gives the impression of luxury.
Due to the highly adaptable construction, the frame can be easily enlarged, and the earcups can be tilted and rotated by 90° (useful for storage), which certainly contributes to comfort.
The G Pro is not collapsible, so regardless of its convincing construction, we would not recommend carrying it in a backpack or bag due to many flexible parts that could give way under pressure.
But if you will use the G Pro mostly in the same place, this will not be a problem.
The volume knob and mic switch are on the cable, which some will find handy, but we have to admit we prefer the approach many others have headsets, which position the controls on the headphones themselves.
How does it sound?
G Pro uses 40 mm drivers for stereo sound reproduction , which it calls "hybrid-mesh Pro G", whose creation was helped by players of professional e-Sport teams.
Their sound in games is truly precise, which means that such cooperation between Logitech and those whose job description includes the use of such a headset has borne fruit.
As for the sound quality when listening to music and other media, it is well balanced if we consider its main purpose - competitive gaming.
Lovers of good bass will be in for a treat because its presence really completes the experience in genres where it is required in larger quantities.
The earcups are well insulated, so there won't be too much sound leakage.
It should be noted the lack of virtual surround, which could discourage you from buying, especially because of the price range in which the G Pro belongs.
While using virtual surround sound when gaming is a personal choice, that's exactly what's missing - the ability to choose.
However, then the headset would also have to be USB, not analog, which would go against the simplicity that Logitech was aiming for.
The microphone is relatively quiet and picks up quite a bit of background noise, but it is quite acceptable for communicating with comrades and everything else that is not recording voiceovers for YouTube or streaming on YouTube or Twitch.
All in all, this is a comfortable headset with convincing sound quality and a mediocre microphone.
However, the competition in this price category is extremely strong, and some models from other manufacturers, such as HyperX Cloud Alpha and SteelSeries Arctis 3, still offer more in certain aspects.
