Captain & Skipper needed a fresh new look to better reflect their playful brand. I redesigned and developed four key pages to create a fun, modern, and high-converting Shopify store experience.
Bringing a Modern, Playful Vibe to a Kids’ Shampoo Brand with a Full Shopify Refresh
The Problem:
Rebecca, the founder of Captain & Skipper, had all brand assets ready but felt her store lacked the “fun, modern” look the brand needed. She wanted a redesign of the Homepage, About, Ingredients, and Subscribe & Save pages — with Shopify implementation.
Target User:
Parents looking for high-quality shampoo products for their children
Constraints:
Existing website structure required a design refresh without losing functionality
Needed to match playful branding while maintaining a professional look
The project required development using PageFly for quick and flexible deployment
Process
Research:
Studied existing assets, product positioning and visual style
Reviewed competitors brand to understand how they communicate fun & quality
Worked closely with the client to understand the story behind each product
Understood the tone she wanted parents to feel when visiting the store
Design & Development:
Created initial mockups in Figma
Worked with client to fine-tune the layout
Rebuilt the site using shopify pagebuilder app (Pagefly)
Ensured every section was responsive and aligned with the brands personality
Results:
Since the redesign, the store has seen a notable improvement in customer engagement and conversion rate. The updated experience feels modern and trustworthy, helping the brand attract and retain more loyal customers.

"Ridwan was great to work with. I approached him about design for our ecommerce website and he delivered. If you need an ecommerce UI design I would highly recommend him. The design was on point and was open to suggestions and revisions. He was able to take our brand guide and make it come to life using Figma. You'll go back and forth over Figma before development. He went a step further and coded the project using PageFly in Shopify."
