Website design for timber construction company Akrobud

Here’s a look at the new website I designed for Akrobud — a family-owned company that has been building timber structures and prefabricated wooden homes for over 30 years.
The goal was to modernize the brand’s online presence while preserving its heritage and craftsmanship. The site had to clearly communicate Akrobud’s wide range of services — from wooden houses and gazebos to CNC cutting and materials for the construction industry — all in a clean, structured, and scalable layout.

Client-provided content: real, raw, and powerful

What made this project special was the client’s active involvement in content production. Akrobud prepared a set of high-quality photos from real construction sites and workshops, along with a short brand video showing their process and philosophy. This allowed us to move away from generic stock content and build a site that truly feels personal, local, and credible.

Microinteractions & animations

To support a modern, lightweight experience, we used subtle scroll animations, hover states, and transitions throughout the site. Section headers animate into view, buttons respond smoothly to interaction, and cards slide naturally as users explore the offer. All of this was done with restraint — just enough to enhance flow without distracting from the content.
Even the client testimonial section got a creative twist. Instead of a plain list of quotes, we used a background video of a forest, masked in the shape of a quotation mark. It’s a small but expressive detail that instantly draws the eye and gives the testimonials a natural, trustworthy feel — without saying a word too many.

My role

I was responsible for the complete UX and UI design, as well as full project ownership — from early planning and content structure to delivery. I oversaw the collaboration with external developers, managed the timeline and milestones, coordinated content collection with the client, and maintained detailed documentation to ensure smooth execution. It was a hands-on, end-to-end lead role — and one I’m proud of.
Let me know what you think and press ♥️ - if you believe timeless materials deserve timeless design 🌾
