Custom Abuja Travel Itinerary for Two

When "Just Find Something for Them" Became a Full Itinerary It started with an email. A client was flying into Nigeria for a wedding but her trip didn't end at the reception. She had two extra days before her flight back to the United States, and she wasn't spending them alone. Her mother and her mother's close friend were coming along too ,two women who'd traveled far, celebrated hard, and now just wanted a couple of easy, enjoyable days in Abuja before heading home. There was just one problem: she couldn't be their tour guide. Between wedding wind-down and her own flight prep, she needed someone else to make sure her mom and her mom's friend didn't spend their last two days in Nigeria sitting in a hotel room. So she reached out to me. The brief was simple on the surface, "find fun places in Abuja for oldies" but I knew what she really needed: a plan that respected pace, comfort, and ease. Not a checklist of tourist attractions, but two unhurried, well-timed days built around what two older women would actually enjoy art, culture, good food, a little shopping, and rest built in between. I got to work. I researched museums with guided tours instead of long walks, an art gallery with free entry and plenty of seating, a calm pottery and painting studio for a relaxing creative afternoon, and a lakeside mall where they could sit, shop, and eat without being rushed. I mapped out timing down to the hour morning arrival, midday activity, afternoon rest, evening wind-down, so there'd be no guesswork, no wasted time, and no exhaustion. By the time I delivered the itinerary, it wasn't just a list of places. It was a plan my client could hand to her mom and say, "You're taken care of." That's the part of this work I love most it's never really about the places.
