Hey Popeye..... you might want to put down that can of spinach.
Sorry, but your spinach isn’t as magical as it seems. Now don’t get me wrong; it’s still
a superfood, great for eye health, preventing cancer, and reducing blood pressure.
But there’s one thing it’s known for that's not true. It’s not the greatest source of iron.
And while many blogs and websites still talk about it being a high Iron food. It only
has 2.9 milligrams of iron (especially when cooked). Back in the 1930’s when Popeye
was created there was a literal decimal place error which led people to be told it was
10x as rich in iron then it actually was.
So Sorry Popeye, maybe you should pick another food for an iron boost.
