FENVIO — Building a Full-Funnel Ad Creative System for a DTC Beauty Launch Client: Fenvio (fenvio.uk) — DTC beauty brand Product: TrueTone pH-Adjusting Lipstick Markets: All English-speaking countries My role: Ad Creative Strategist & Designer --- THE CHALLENGE Fenvio was launching a pH-adjusting lipstick — a clear lipstick that transforms into a personalized shade based on each woman's lip pH. The target audience: women 45–60+, highly skeptical (Stage 3 sophistication — they've tried everything and trust nothing). The brand needed more than a designer. They needed someone who could think like a media buyer, write like a copywriter, and design like a creative director — all in one. The brief: build a complete static ad system that could scale across multiple English-speaking markets, with enough creative volume and variety to test aggressively from day one. --- THE APPROACH I don't start with design. I start with data. Step 1 — Competitor Intelligence I audited 5 competing brands across 500+ ads using GetHook. My method: if a brand repeats a specific format 4-5 times, that's not laziness — that's a proven winner. I mapped every repeating pattern and extracted the underlying structure. Step 2 — Audience Deep-Dive I pulled real language from Reddit threads, beauty forums, and product reviews. Not marketing speak — actual words women use when they're frustrated with lipstick. This became the foundation for every hook. Step 3 — Hook Library I built a structured hook library organized by funnel stage: - Cold — scroll-stoppers that hit pain points and spark curiosity - Warm — social proof, trust claims, and mechanism explanations - Evergreen — benefit-driven hooks that work year-round Every hook was fact-checked against the product site. No fabricated statistics. No AI-sounding copy. Every claim traceable to a real data point. Step 4 — Visual Format Matrix (8 Formats) From competitor analysis, I identified 8 visual formats with proven performance: Hero product shots, split comparisons, ingredient trust circles, multi-skin grids, lip transformations, UGC-style posts, price/offer banners, and text-dominant ads. Step 5 — Production Each creative was built with a specific hook + format + funnel stage combination. No two creatives use the same hook. Diversity was enforced across every dimension — different women, skin tones, hair, and lip shades in every single ad. --- THE SYSTEM What I delivered wasn't just 50 images. It was a complete creative operating system: - 50 static ad creatives across 8 visual formats - 50-hook library with funnel-stage mapping - Hook tracker documenting every hook used and remaining - Brand ad system document — a master instruction file any designer or AI tool can follow to produce on-brand creatives at scale - Color strategy by traffic type (on-brand for warm, palette-breaking for cold) --- WHY IT WORKS Most freelancers deliver creatives. I deliver a system. The difference: when this batch finishes testing, the brand doesn't start from zero. They have a documented framework, unused hooks ready to deploy, proven formats to iterate on, and a clear process for the next 50. That's not a deliverable. That's a competitive advantage.
