Araribá Botanical Garden Project - Web Development

Project Overview

The development project for the Araribá Botanical Garden (ABG) website represented a significant digital transformation challenge for an institution dedicated to preserving the Atlantic Forest. Created in 2016 in Amparo-SP, ABG's mission is to ensure and stimulate the preservation of native flora in Brazil's most threatened biome through cultural activities, research, environmental education, and plant conservation.

Briefing Analysis

The process began with an in-depth analysis of the briefing, identifying the institution's pain points and specific needs. It was crucial to understand not only the immediate objectives but also ABG's long-term vision, which has been operating through volunteer work since 1985.
During this phase, we mapped the main key performance indicators (KPIs) relevant to the client, such as:
Conversion rate of visitors to volunteers
Engagement with educational content
Volume of donations generated through the platform
Interaction with the virtual store

Layout Development

Design Approach

We opted for a modern, minimalist, user-centered design, prioritizing:
Responsive design to ensure a consistent experience across all devices
Clean and minimalist layout eliminating distractions and focusing on content
Bold typography to highlight the institutional message
High-quality visual resources showcasing the beauty of the Atlantic Forest and ABG's work
Intuitive navigation facilitating access to different sections of the site
The wireframe was structured following the F-pattern for institutional content, ensuring that the most important information was strategically positioned to capture user attention.

Implemented Functionalities

The project required the integration of multiple systems into a cohesive interface:
Content Library: Organized repository of educational materials on environmental preservation and Atlantic Forest biodiversity
Virtual Store: Platform for selling ABG-related products, generating additional revenue
Donation System: Intuitive interface to facilitate financial contributions
Institutional Area: Presentation of ABG's history, mission, and actions

Challenges and Solutions

One of the main challenges was balancing the visual richness necessary to represent the botanical garden's biodiversity with the need for fast loading times. We used image optimization techniques and progressive loading to ensure performance without compromising visual quality.
The implementation of the donation system required special attention to usability and security, creating a simple flow that conveyed trust to potential donors.

Results and Impact

The site developed on the Framer platform (araribajardimbotanico.framer.ai) fulfills its main objective of presenting the work of the Araribá Botanical Garden to the world, serving as a digital showcase that:
Expands the institution's reach beyond local borders
Facilitates the recruitment of new volunteers through a simplified process
Offers multiple channels for financial support, attracting investors and donors
Educates visitors about the importance of Atlantic Forest preservation
The project represents not just an online presence, but a strategic tool for the sustainability and growth of this important environmental conservation initiative.
