From Zero to 179K+: Building a Political Media Brand on X

In 2019, I created an X (formerly Twitter) account with zero followers and a simple goal: build an audience around political content that cuts through the noise. No paid promotion, no gimmicks, no personal brand tricks. Just sharp editorial instincts and relentless consistency.
Over the next several years, that account grew to 179,000+ followers organically.

What I Do Daily

I post 12-15 times per week, a cadence I've refined over time. Early on, I posted more aggressively, but as X's algorithm began penalizing overposting, I adapted. That shift taught me something most content creators miss: understanding the platform matters as much as the content itself.
My feed is built around political news commentary. I curate stories that matter, repost video content with my own editorial framing through text overlays and captions, and surface the conversations people actually want to have. The format is faceless by design. The content speaks for itself.

Counterpoint: A Weekly Live Political Talk Show

In March 2024, I launched Counterpoint, a weekly live political talk show on X Spaces. The show was built with a clear mission: bring people together, not divide them. In a political media landscape that profits from outrage and tribalism, Counterpoint is designed to foster real conversation across perspectives.
It's been running consistently for over two years now. Each episode runs 4+ hours, averaging 110 listeners cycling through the show. We run segments, bring on panelists to discuss the week's biggest topics, and produce clips from each episode for distribution across the feed.
This isn't a casual Twitter Space. It's structured programming with real production and a purpose behind it.

Show Segments

The show features recurring segments that give it structure beyond open discussion. One co-host runs a weekly SCOTUS segment, breaking down Supreme Court decisions for the audience. These dedicated segments keep the programming focused and give listeners a reason to come back each week for specific coverage they can't get elsewhere.

Building the Team

I'm the founder, creator, and host of Counterpoint, but I didn't try to do everything alone. I built a 7-person team that includes co-hosts, panelists, and contributors. They're leaders in their own right, handling everything from clip production to shaping the week's programming.
I lead the creative direction, but the best ideas come from the team. That collaborative approach is what keeps the show fresh after 2+ years of weekly episodes.

The Approach

Everything I've built comes down to a few principles:
Consistency over virality. Showing up every week for years matters more than one big moment.
Platform intelligence. Adapting to algorithm changes instead of fighting them.
Audience-first thinking. The content serves the community, not the other way around.
Unity over division. Political content doesn't have to tear people apart. The show proves that.
Team building. Scaling from a solo operation to a 7-person production team.

What This Means for Clients

If you're a brand, organization, or creator looking for someone who understands how to build and sustain an audience on X, I bring real operational experience: content strategy, live show production, team leadership, community management, and platform-native thinking refined over years of daily execution.
