Redefining Legacy: A Modern Coastal Identity for Martin Development Group

Blending Fayetteville charm with Newport Beach heritage through a refined visual transformation.

Overview: Martin Development Group’s rebrand began as more than a design exercise — it was about honoring legacy while setting a new standard for modern development. The previous logo lacked the warmth and sophistication that defined the company’s approach. Rooted in Fayetteville yet inspired by the founders’ Newport Beach upbringing, the new identity brings together the coastal spirit of connection, movement, and timeless design.
The Transformation: The redesigned mark reimagines Martin’s heritage through a subtle sailboat motif — a nod to Newport Beach’s sailing culture and a metaphor for direction, progress, and stewardship. The sail form, simplified into geometric precision, reflects the brand’s commitment to thoughtful design and enduring quality.
Paired with a clean, contemporary type system and a palette that evokes natural materials and light, the visual language communicates approachability and authenticity without losing sophistication. Every element — from the sail-inspired icon to the balance of typography — was designed to feel grounded, warm, and quietly confident.
