Célesse is a skincare brand built around a hero product: a winter cream designed to protect, hydrate, and restore the skin during colder months. The product is formulated with natural ingredients that create a protective barrier against harsh winter conditions, leaving skin soft, smooth, and well cared for.
The Goal: The goal of the project was to create a brand identity that feels premium and clearly signals high quality, while still standing out in a market, which is dominated by quiet, minimal skincare packaging.
Although Célesse currently offers only one hero product, it was important to design a flexible visual system that could scale as the product range grows, and allow customers to easily differentiate future products without losing brand consistency.
The Approach: To achieve this, I combined familiar visual cues from high-end skincare with more expressive elements that help Célesse feel distinctive.
For the logo, I chose a premium serif typeface and included a custom letterform to soften the logotype. This was paired with a more robust, sturdy typeface to bring contrast and demonstrate the product’s protective qualities during harsh winter conditions.
The colour palette is built on a black-and-white foundation, which is commonly associated with high-end skincare, but, the visual identity is led by a light blue as the primary colour. On the packaging, this colour creates a clear system where new products can be introduced by simply changing the colour strip, without disrupting the overall visual language.
Photography focused on two key qualities: softness and comfort, which was communicated through knitted fabrics, and the skin’s healthy glow, expressed through fresh snow and sunlit winter scenery.
The Result: The final identity positions Célesse as a premium skincare brand that fits naturally within the industry, while still offering distinctive elements that set it apart. The flexible visual system allows the brand to grow and expand its product range while maintaining a high-end, recognisable look.
