and being locked out because your fingerprints faded.
That’s not fiction.
It’s happening not only to farmers, factory workers, or elderly users, but also to individuals with medical conditions that affect skin texture.
Research shows that up to 30% of elderly users fail fingerprint verification due to age-related ridge changes.
And manual labour can increase that risk even more.
Their problem isn’t technology.
It’s accessibility.
We talk a lot about innovation in Fintech
AI fraud detection, digital KYC, sleek dashboards
but if a person can’t even get past onboarding,
none of it matters.
Accessibility isn’t just ethics. Designing for accessibility is designing for retention.
Because every time a user feels excluded,
you lose not just a customer, you lose credibility.
