Leading supplier of food-grade Mahua flowers, Wild Harvest sought a brand identity to reflect how they are leveraging the support from the indigenous community to scientifically and ethically harvest the food-grade Mahua flowers. A collaboration with their founder helped in understanding how to visually position the brand and craft a logo design evoking a sense of ‘community’ and ‘modernity’ to the brand.
The Mahua flower's cultivation in India has a long history, which was severely impacted by the British Act of the 1850s. This brand identity pays homage to the tribal communities that have preserved the nutritional benefits and traditional applications of Mahua flowers. The logo features a custom typeface inspired by the native languages of the tribes in Jharkhand, the origin of Mahua flowers.
