I had the privilege of redesigning the website for Shalom Care Services, an organization dedicated to providing compassionate support and high-quality services for individuals with intellectual disabilities. Their mission is to help clients achieve and maintain safe, sanitary living conditions, uphold personal hygiene and enhance daily living skills, ultimately improving their overall health and well-being. This empowerment enables them to take on meaningful roles within their communities.

Guided by this mission, I crafted a website that reflects the organization’s values and commitment to service. After thoroughly understanding their brand identity, including their colour palette and target audience, I developed a modern, visually appealing, and user-friendly design. The new website is fully responsive, ensuring seamless navigation and accessibility across all devices, enhancing the user experience and strengthening Shalom Care Services’ online presence.

The primary challenges with the previous website included its lack of mobile responsiveness, which limited accessibility across devices, and its inability to fully convey the comprehensive range of services offered by Shalom Care Services. Additionally, the site’s user experience was not optimized, making it less intuitive and user-friendly for visitors.

While developing a website for Shalom Care Services, I began by conducting a comprehensive planning and strategy phase. This included requirement gathering to deeply understand the client’s unique needs, target audience, and overall goals for the website. I performed a competitor analysis to benchmark industry standards and identify opportunities for differentiation. To ensure a well-structured website, I created a site map that clearly outlined the content hierarchy and navigational structure. Following this, I designed wireframes and prototypes to visualize the website's user flow and overall functionality, providing the client with a clear preview of how the site would look and operate.

In the design phase, I focused on crafting an intuitive and engaging user experience. I applied UI/UX design principles to ensure seamless navigation, making it easy for visitors to find information and interact with the website. For the visual elements, I carefully selected colour schemes, typography, and imagery that aligned with Shalom Care Services’ brand identity, creating a cohesive and professional look.

Additionally, I implemented responsive design techniques to ensure the website performed flawlessly across all devices, including desktops, tablets, and mobile phones. This holistic approach resulted in a dynamic, user-centric website that effectively represents Shalom Care Services and meets its online objectives.
