Briefing
My task for this project was to design a website that was intended for skaters and Vans streetwear enthusiasts.
After thoroughly analyzing my persona—and drawing from my own experience as part of this community—I identified a key insight: the majority of streetwear stylists, skaters, and graffiti artists highly value product customization. They want the ability to personalize their gear to reflect their unique style. With this in mind, I integrated a customization feature into the website, ensuring it aligned with a seamless user flow to enhance the overall experience.
During the design process, I placed a strong emphasis on preserving and optimizing white space throughout the interfaces. By doing so, I aimed to create a smoother, more intuitive user interface that not only enhances visual clarity but also improves the overall user experience. This careful attention to white space allowed me to strike a balance between aesthetic appeal and functionality, ensuring that the interface feels clean, modern, and easy to navigate.
During the UI prototyping phase, I prioritized creating detailed, interactive prototypes that closely resembled the final design. By focusing on the functionality and visual elements, I was able to test user flows, interactions, and transitions in a realistic environment. This allowed me to identify potential usability issues early on and iterate on the design. The prototyping process also helped streamline communication with stakeholders and developers, ensuring that the final UI was both user-friendly and aligned with the overall design vision.
