Project Description

I undertook a UI redesign project for a bank's Internet banking web application to address usability issues and enhance the overall user experience. The existing interface lacked intuitive navigation, and consistency in design elements, and failed to align with the bank's brand identity. The goal was to create a modern, user-friendly, and visually appealing interface that would provide customers with a seamless and secure online banking experience.

Problem

The bank's Internet banking web app suffered from several key issues that affected user satisfaction and engagement. These included:
Complex Navigation: Users struggled to find and access key features and functionalities due to an unclear information hierarchy and cumbersome navigation.
Inconsistent Design: The existing interface lacked consistency in terms of visual elements, typography, and color schemes, resulting in a disjointed user experience.
Poor Visual Appeal: The interface did not reflect the bank's brand identity and failed to create a visually engaging experience for users, which impacted user trust and engagement.
Limited Responsiveness: The web app was not fully optimized for mobile and tablet devices, resulting in a subpar experience for users accessing the platform from different devices.

Goal

The primary goal of the UI redesign project was to create an enhanced user experience that would address the aforementioned problems and align with the bank's objectives. The specific goals included:
Intuitive Navigation: Improve the information architecture and navigation flow to ensure users can easily locate and access key features, reducing user frustration and enhancing efficiency.
Consistent and Modern Design: Create a visually consistent and modern design that aligns with the bank's brand guidelines, promoting trust, professionalism, and a sense of security for users.
Enhanced Visual Appeal: Redesign the interface with visually appealing elements, such as refined typography, coherent color schemes, and modern iconography, to create a visually engaging and memorable user experience.
Responsive Optimization: Ensure the web app is fully responsive, providing a seamless experience across different devices and screen sizes, and catering to the growing number of mobile users.
Outcome
Through my expertise in UI design and user-centered approach, I successfully redesigned the bank's internet banking web app, delivering an enhanced user experience and visually appealing interface. The project encompassed user research, information architecture, wireframing, visual design, interaction design, and responsive optimization. The iterative process, collaboration with the client, and usability testing resulted in a robust design solution that met the bank's goals and user expectations.
