Raycast - MultiMedia Motion Design

From Design to Motion

The Objective:

To translate the core philosophy of Raycast,"The shortcut is everything" into a cinematic visual narrative.
This study explores the intersection of raw, industrial cinematography and high-precision UI animation.
The goal was to create a narrative visual that moves away from traditional, bright tech advertisements toward something grittier and more rhythmic.

The Process: Design to Motion

UI Engineering & Animation
Asset Creation: I designed custom UI components in Figma, ensuring pixel-perfect alignment with Raycast’s official design system.
Raycast UI recreated using Figma

Kinetic Motion: Using Jitter, I animated the interface with high-frequency easing. Every movement was designed to feel "instant" and tactile, mirroring the speed of the actual software.

Compositing: Using Davinci Resolve Studio 21, The UI was integrated into 4K footage of a subject, creating a seamless blend between the digital tool and the physical workspace.
The Workflow

Technical Breakdown

Kinetic Typography: Bold, repeating brand elements used to maintain high-energy momentum throughout the edit.
Environmental Integration: Tracking digital UI elements into real-world environments to showcase the software as an extension of the creator.
Industrial Sound Design: A 16-bit mechanical soundscape where every "shortcut" is paired with an audio cue to create a sensory-heavy experience.
Tech-Noir Color Grade: A custom teal-and-orange grade designed to emphasize the "late-night grind" atmosphere.

The Outcome

A 15-second, high-retention product teaser optimized for social-first marketing. This project demonstrates my ability to take a brand’s hero message and transform it into a cinematic experience that captures attention in the first 2 seconds.
