The Brand

MODE Designs is a premium custom mechanical keyboard and lifestyle hardware manufacturer based in the United States. They cater to a specific audience: designers, software engineers, and high-end workstation enthusiasts who place immense value on minimalist industrial design, clean structural lines, custom premium materials (brass, copper, milled aluminum), and a flawless, acoustically tuned typing experience.
Their products function as much as premium desk decor as they do high-performance input devices. The Envoy, the Encore, and their other models sit at the intersection of precision engineering and visual identity. That tension between function and form is what made this project interesting.

Project Overview & Client Brief

This project focused on executing a comprehensive motion graphics remix for MODE Designs, an elite manufacturer of premium custom mechanical keyboards and designer desk hardware. The brief required taking disjointed, raw studio product assets and reimagining them into a sleek, technically sophisticated motion identity sequence. The final asset needed to mirror the brand's signature aesthetic—minimalist industrial design, premium materials, and precise geometric lines—while functioning as a looping high-end portfolio banner.

Technical Process & Mixed-Media Execution

Leveraging Adobe After Effects and DaVinci Resolve Studio, I developed a dense, multi-layered mixed-media composition:
Sleek Layout Design & Panel Grids: Engineered a responsive, tech-forward multi-panel split-screen grid layout. This allowed distinct product dimensions—such as close-up material textures, internal brass weights, and hands-on assembly workflows—to display simultaneously without cluttering the screen architecture.
Kinetic Typography & 3D Camera Tracking: Integrated sharp, minimalist typography utilizing strict keyframe easing profiles to communicate product specs cleanly. I applied advanced 3D camera tracking to link text callouts directly to moving physical components on screen in real time.
Bespoke Tactile Sound Engineering: Built a highly immersive auditory landscape directly within the animation timeline. I hand-mapped specific audio cues to match the motion keyframes—synchronizing rapid visual cuts with crisp mechanical typewriter keystrokes, precise UI data clicks, and seamless transitional whooshes to physically ground the graphics.

Measurable Project Results

The project yielded a flawless, looping personal brand motion banner that demonstrates complete mastery over advanced visual timing and intricate audio-visual synchronization. The asset successfully elevates basic B-roll footage into an interactive user interface experience, providing a premium digital touchpoint that aligns perfectly with the lifestyle values of the target audience.
