Project Overview

Name: SocialNest
Target Users: Social media managers, content creators, agencies, small businesses Objective: To provide a centralized, user-friendly platform for planning, scheduling, and managing social media posts across multiple platforms.

Problem Statement

Social media managers often juggle multiple platforms, clients, and content calendars using disconnected tools (e.g., spreadsheets, manual uploads). This causes inefficiencies, missed deadlines, and team miscommunication.

The Solution

SocialNest is designed as an all-in-one content planning and scheduling tool with smart automation, visual calendars, AI-powered suggestions, and seamless collaboration features.

The Process

User Personas

Emma – Agency Social Media Manager: Needs a tool that helps her manage 10+ brand accounts with team collaboration and client approvals.
James – Small Business Owner: Wants a simple way to batch-schedule posts for his clothing store without complex tools.
Priya – Freelance Content Creator: Seeks inspiration and a consistent posting schedule with performance feedback to grow her online presence.

User Stories

As a social media manager, I want to schedule posts visually so I can plan ahead.
As a team manager, I want to assign tasks and review drafts so I can get my team on track.
As a freelance content creator, I want AI to suggest improvements to my captions so I reach the right audience.
As a user, I want notifications for post approvals or missed deadlines so I can be informed.
As a team member, I want to leave comments and tag others so I can contribute to projects.
As a small business owner, I want to see which posts perform best so I can decide what to improve on in my next posts.

The Solutions

The Dashboard: Overview of scheduled posts, performance metrics, and upcoming tasks.
The dashboard includes;
Engagement Summary: On the Dashboard, the Engagement Summary provides a high-level view of how content is performing across connected social media platforms.
Notifications: The notifications highlights time-sensitive events which includes: Alerts about scheduled posts going live soon, reminders for upcoming deadlines or approvals and alerts when a social account disconnects
Today’s Schedule: Keeps users informed of scheduled post for each day.
The Calendar: Most SMMs think in terms of time hence the calendar is their mental model. With a clear visual timeline, it drastically reduces confusion and speeds up rescheduling. The calendar also includes visual planner with drag-and-drop posts.
The calendar shows;
Monthly/Weekly/Daily Views
Filter by Platform or Campaign
Create New Event
Posts: This section mirrors the creative workflow of social media managers and breaking it down into manageable states and reducing clutter during content creation. Social media can manage all content across statuses and platforms.

AI Assistant: Social media managers need to prove value. I focused on clarity and visual storytelling to help users make informed decisions and impress stakeholders.
