As the Creative Lead for the Boomplay x itel Power Up Your Life Music Festival, I had the incredible opportunity to orchestrate a dynamic and immersive campus activation event. Held at Accra Technical University on March 2nd, this neon-themed concert was designed to fuse the latest beats from Boomplay with cutting-edge technology from itel, creating an unforgettable experience for Gen-Z students.

Objectives

Generate Awareness: Promote itel’s new product and increase brand visibility.
Engage Gen-Z Audience: Establish a strong physical and emotional connection between the brands and their tech-savvy, vibrant audience.
Drive App Downloads: Encourage attendees to download the Boomplay app and engage with itel's social media.


Creative Execution

Concept Development: Created a vibrant, neon-themed concert that seamlessly blended music and technology, ensuring an engaging and memorable experience.
Experience Zone: Designed an electrifying setup with immersive lighting and interactive games, setting the perfect stage for both daytime and nighttime activities.
Performance Lineup: Curated a mix of headline artists like Pappy Kojo, Wendy Shay, Yaw Tog, and Fameye, alongside top DJs and MCs to keep the energy high.
Interactive Activities: Incorporated gaming experiences, neon face painting, and live DJ sets to keep the audience entertained and engaged throughout the event.

Engagement Strategies

Digital Campaigns: Utilized social media influencers and a Twitter army to build hype and drive attendance. Created digital communications for brand pages to maintain momentum.
On-Ground Activation: Implemented room-to-room activations and campus engagements to ensure maximum reach and participation.
In-App Engagement: Encouraged app downloads through entry incentives and live giveaways, enhancing both app engagement and social media interactions.

Highlights

Influencer Partnerships: Collaborated with campus influencers to amplify the event's reach and engagement.
Live Performances: Exciting and energetic performances delivered by artistes like Wendy Shay, Yaw Tog, and an interesting first appearance of Pappy Kojo after his incident.
Colorful Experience: Attendees participated by having painted faces and bodies with glowing paint to give an artistic vibe to the event.

Results

Offline Reach: Achieved a reach of 12k+ attendees.
Impressions: Garnered over 3M impressions across social media.
Engagement: Drove 240k+ interactions online.
App Downloads: Facilitated 2k+ Boomplay app downloads during the event.

The Boomplay x itel Campus Power Up Your Life Music Festival was a resounding success, effectively merging music and technology to create a powerful brand experience. Through innovative design, strategic influencer partnerships, and engaging activities, we were able to connect with our target audience on a deep, emotional level, leaving a lasting impression and driving significant brand engagement.
