Bird Kitchen Clothing

Vicky North is a talented chef and food writer. We were sitting in Crwst Bakery in Cardigan, Wales and I was helping her design a website to post her food writing to. We got to chatting about how we rarely hear women’s stories as it is such a male-dominated industry. She came up with the idea to do a dedicated Women In Food digital column. It was a hit. Months later I got a call. She had a new idea and it was a good one. Inspired by her Women In Food conversations she discovered the lack of satisfaction women were having with the classic chef whites and kitchen wear. Existing workwear had been designed to meet men’s needs and forms. She wanted to design a clothing line tailored to women in food. We immediately put things into action and I helped her with all her initial graphic design and creative direction needs. From there the clothing line blossomed. You can find her workwear in various kitchens across the UK.
