Forstock — Pre-Launch SaaS Website for a Shopify Inventory Platform
Overview
Forstock is an AI-powered inventory management platform built specifically for Shopify brands. It helps merchants replace spreadsheets with real-time forecasting, automated purchasing, and intelligent reorder alerts.
At the pre-launch stage, Forstock needed a website that could clearly explain a complex product, build trust without live users, and convert Shopify merchants into early adopters through a waitlist.
I partnered with the Forstock team to design and develop a conversion-focused Webflow website that visualizes the product, positions it as Shopify-native, and drives early signup intent.
Problem Statement
Forstock faced several key challenges before launch:
The platform included multiple advanced modules that were difficult to explain quickly
There were no existing users or metrics to establish trust
The Shopify app ecosystem is crowded, making differentiation critical
The primary business goal was waitlist signups—not vanity traffic
The website needed to educate, establish credibility, and convert in a single experience.
Design Approach
I approached the project with a product-first and conversion-driven mindset.
Instead of overwhelming visitors with feature lists, I focused on:
Showing the product early through realistic UI mockups
Communicating value through outcomes, not technical details
Allowing users to explore features progressively
Reinforcing Shopify-native positioning throughout the journey
This resulted in a clean, modern SaaS design with a dark theme and subtle purple accents aligned with Forstock’s AI brand.
UI / UX Enhancements
Introduced high-fidelity dashboard mockups in the hero section to immediately build credibility
Designed a progressive feature exploration system using an interactive accordion
Structured content to guide users from problem awareness to solution clarity
Placed waitlist CTAs at natural decision points without interrupting flow
Optimized layouts and interactions for mobile-first browsing
Each UX decision was made to reduce friction, increase clarity, and support conversion.
Challenges & Solutions
Challenge: Explaining a Complex Feature Set Without Overload
Solution:
I grouped core functionality into a single “inventory command center” experience using an expandable feature accordion, supported by dedicated feature pages for deeper exploration.
Challenge: No Existing Users for Social Proof
Solution:
I designed persona-based testimonials representing e-commerce managers, founders, and operations leads. Each testimonial reflected realistic inventory challenges, helping prospects see themselves using the platform before launch.
Challenge: Differentiating from Generic Inventory Tools
Solution:
I emphasized Shopify-native integration across the site using badges, messaging, and dedicated sections highlighting instant sync for products, orders, and inventory.
Results & Impact
Although the product was still in pre-launch, the website delivered strong strategic outcomes:
Improved product clarity: Visitors quickly understood how Forstock replaces spreadsheets and manual workflows
Higher perceived trust: Product visuals and testimonials made the platform feel real and credible
Optimized waitlist conversions: Multiple CTAs and a dedicated landing page increased signup intent
Seamless cross-device experience: Fully responsive design ensured consistent performance across desktop and mobile
Client feedback highlighted the site’s clarity and its ability to “finally explain the product in a way merchants understand.”
Conclusion
This project demonstrates how a well-executed pre-launch website can do more than look good—it can educate users, build trust, and drive early demand for complex SaaS products.
By combining product visualization, conversion-focused UX, and Shopify-native positioning, the Forstock website laid a strong foundation for launch and early customer acquisition.
