This interior renovation and design project focused on transforming a commercial space, situated on the ground floor of a building, into an exclusive fitness facility. The design process carefully considered the spatial requirements for each functional area within the gym. This included a dedicated weight room, a cardio and machine area in the main hall, a welcoming reception and waiting area, and a private office. Furthermore, restrooms, changing rooms, and a consultation room were strategically located on the lower ground floor of the building.

The design process commenced with a comprehensive analysis of the existing commercial space. This initial phase involved a detailed site survey, encompassing photographic documentation and on-site measurements, alongside a thorough investigation of the building's original architectural plans. This multi-faceted approach aimed to fully comprehend the historical modifications and transformations the space had undergone over time. Subsequently, a planimetry of the current state was meticulously produced, serving as the foundational basis for the development of the new project.

As illustrated in the accompanying planimetric drawings, the design effectively addressed the division of required spaces and the strategic positioning of the client's specified fitness equipment within the gymnasium. Furthermore, the design extended to the lower ground floor, successfully transforming what was previously an underutilized storage area into a functional and organized space, thereby enhancing the overall utility of the facility.

The client's vision for the fitness facility was grounded in an 'urban jungle' aesthetic. To realize this concept, the material palette strategically combined natural elements with industrial accents. Natural materials, such as wood and verdant vegetation, were juxtaposed with the raw textures of polished concrete and metal mesh. This material interplay culminated in a distinctive ceiling design featuring exposed ductwork and perforated metal panels. These panels served as a structural framework to suspend cascading greenery, effectively integrating plant life into the main exercise space. Complementary green walls and plant installations were incorporated throughout the interior to further enhance the biophilic ambiance. Furthermore, a space-partitioning element composed of vertical wood and mirrored panels was implemented. This design feature served a dual purpose: to create a sense of spaciousness through reflection and to allow gym users to monitor their form without obstructing the natural light flow to the weight training area.
