Contra & Why I Chose it

This will just be a short piece on why I, a reluctant first-time Freelancer, chose Contra over every other Freelance platform I encountered.

Being new to any field is scary; Especially when you feel like you don't have a good support system out there. I was in that headspace for a long time, about 6 years to be exact. I have wanted to pursue freelance writing and freelancing in general since I was around 16-17 years old, but I just never managed to muster up the courage to try it out. This was largely due to the stigma that "you can't make a living through the internet, you must have a 9 to 5 or go to college" however, with how vastly large the internet is growing, this is becoming increasingly obvious that this is not the case. Once I found out about Contra, I figured I just had to check it out, since I had been trying for a few months prior to get started with freelancing on a few other platforms, but all I saw was a sea of fake jobs trying for money grabs.

Why I Chose Contra

I chose Contra because I feel that this platform has unlimited potential to help its creators & freelancers flourish and achieve greater things than they ever could before with other platforms such as Fiverr, Freelancer[dot]com and Upwork. They seem to care about their creators and freelancers first instead of charging commission fees and making a free service that makes it impossible to find work. They have optimized their system and allowed freelancers to create their own in-depth profiles that showcase their skills the way they WANT to show them.

I think that this platform is a breath of fresh air for not only new Freelancers, but experienced ones as well. This platform for me, is a game-changer for at least amateurs and newbies to this industry. The low-risk, high-reward system and the many tools and resources out there on this platform allow people of all skill levels to utilize what there is to offer to create the most satisfactory outcomes possible.
