Swiss Kids Academy - Full-Stack Web Development

About this project:

Swiss Kids Academy is a modern, responsive web platform designed and developed for an educational institution. The primary goal was to create a robust and user-friendly online presence that serves both the school administration and its students. The platform provides essential information for prospective families and current students, featuring dynamic content management for news updates and image galleries, along with a secure system for students to access their academic results. This project showcases end-to-end development, focusing on performance, scalability, and an exceptional user experience.

My Responsibilities:

As the sole developer for the Swiss Kids Academy website, I was responsible for the entire development lifecycle, from server-side architecture to user-facing interfaces and content management. My key responsibilities and accomplishments included:

Full-Stack Development & Architecture:

Designed and implemented the complete application architecture, ensuring seamless integration between the frontend, backend APIs, and database.

Developed RESTful APIs using Node.js and Express.js to handle data communication, user authentication (for results portal), and content delivery.

Database Management (PostgreSQL):

Designed and managed the relational database schema in PostgreSQL to efficiently store and retrieve dynamic content (news, gallery images) and student result data.

Implemented secure data handling and optimized database queries for performance.

Frontend Development (React.js):

Built a highly interactive and intuitive user interface using React.js, ensuring a smooth navigation experience across all pages (Home, News, Gallery, About, Admission, Results).

Implemented full responsiveness, ensuring optimal display and functionality across desktops, tablets, and mobile devices.

Developed a dynamic light and dark mode feature, enhancing user preferences and accessibility.

Integrated Framer Motion library to create engaging and fluid animations, significantly improving the site's visual appeal and user engagement.

Content Management System (Sanity.io CMS) Integration:

Set up and customized Sanity.io as the headless CMS, allowing the school administration to easily upload, update, and delete news articles, gallery images, and other website content independently.

Developed secure API endpoints to fetch and display CMS-managed content dynamically on the frontend.

Code Quality & Maintainability:

Ensured a clean, scalable, and well-organized codebase through adherence to best practices, modular design, and comprehensive documentation, facilitating future expansions and team collaboration.
