Accounting Clean up

Performed multiple accounting clean up projects including (list is not all inclusive):

-Recreated a trial balance and rebuilding financial statements for a mid-sized technology company because the original accounting information was unreliable. This involved analyzing the accounting information and creating multiple correcting journal entries based on verifiable documents. The project evolved to catching up on three financial audits by recreating and submitting worksheets to a regional and Big 5 accounting firm to ensure completion of the audits and an unqualified opinion.

-Performed account reconciliations and clean up of multiple GL accounts for a large career site company due to staff shortage. This involved piecing together several large accounts receivable related GL accounts that were not reconciled for several months.

-Built from scratch balance sheet account reconciliations for a small medical services company, as a result of a new top management team being appointed by the company investors. It was discovered that the accounting records were in shambles and needed to be analyzed and restated.

-Due to the relocation of the corporate office for a small business valuation company to another state and the replacement of the entire accounting team. Management also decided to migrate from a DOS based system to Sage Project and Accounting. This involved catching up on several periods of uncompleted account reconciliations and converting the records to new GL accounts. The project also involved catch up of sales tax returns and state franchise tax returns.

-Reduced period close cycle for a mid-sized technology company from two weeks
