I designed and rigged a functional "Privacy Bot" mascot using Rive to transform a standard authentication form into a moment of "micro-delight".

Overview
Login screens are often high friction drop-off points.
The goal was to transform a standard authentication form into a moment of "micro-delight" that establishes brand personality immediately. We needed a lightweight, reactive solution that wouldn't affect load times.
The Solution We designed and rigged a "Privacy Bot" character using Rive. Unlike a video loop, this is a functional state machine that reacts to user input in real-time.
Key interactions:
Mouse Tracking: The mascot's head and gaze track the cursor coordinates across the viewport, creating a sense of presence.
Privacy Mode: When the user focuses on the "Password" input field, it triggers a hands up animation, causing the bot to cover its eyes. This playfully reinforces security and user privacy.
Input Validation: The rig is set up to switch to a success or fail state upon form submission. Rigging: The rig was created using rive's constraints and bones to allow for fluid, non-destructive deformation of the head, antenna and arms.
Utilized Rive's State Machine to blend between different animation states and react to real time inputs without code-heavy overhead.
Performance: The entire animation exports as a distinct .riv file (approx. 30kb), ensuring 60fps performance on the web without the weight of a GIF or MP4.
The Result
A memorable, gamified entry point that reduces user frustration and humanizes the digital interface.
